Repossessed Sales Auction Events Online
I constantly find plenty of and all types of boats that quietly liquidate at boat auction sales events online that many are unaware of. If you happen to be sifting the market for boat repos, equipment, accessory, part, or trailor even than checking out a local or regional repo auction can often turn out to be your best resource. If you haven’t ever checked one out many boaters have been able to secure a boat for far less when compared to buying from an owner or dealer. Auctions need to be visited frequently not sporadically like most tend to do. Visiting an auctions online on a recurring basis is the best way to not only get a good handle on values but more importantly finding a boat of great value.
So, what kind of savings or discounts can you get at repo boat auctions? It solely depends upon your willingness to view lots of boats for sale. I do NOT like salvage boat auctions at all…especially online. It’s just too risky. Having said that if you look at say 100 boats of the same type and length you’re going to find about 10 that you like and upon closer inspection 3 that you’re willing to make an offer or place a bid on. In spite of what you may have heard there are all types and conditions of boats found at this type of sales venue. But, don’t believe what I or anyone says until you see first hand for yourself.
Bidding is Fun But…
Don’t make the mistake of bidding without understanding the assets as-is value. In a live auction event it’s good to wait and bid near or at the end so you’re not bidding against yourself. Be prepared if you’re the winning bidder to pay not only the balance due but any title and administrative fees the same day or usually within 24 hours. So that’s really a few of the basics. I do encourage you to attend an auction or two first to better sense the whole process first hand.
